We're a group of believers from different churches who come together each week to dig into God's Word. No denomination, no agenda — just a shared love for Scripture and a desire to grow closer to Christ.
Every week, around 8–12 of us gather at Cup of Grace Cafe & Bakery in Moorefield, WV for an hour of study, conversation, and encouragement. Whether you've been walking with the Lord for decades or are just beginning to explore the Bible, you're welcome here.
We take our name from the Bereans in Acts 17:11, who "received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so." That's our heart — to search the Scriptures together and let God's truth shape our lives.
First three Tuesdays of each month
We are united by the core truths of the Christian faith.
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — not by works, but as a gift from God.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." — Ephesians 2:8–9
"Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." — Romans 10:9
We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in nature, distinct in role, and united in purpose.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." — Matthew 28:19
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." — 2 Corinthians 13:14
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man — the eternal Son who took on human flesh, lived without sin, and is the only mediator between God and man.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." — John 1:1, 14
"For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily." — Colossians 2:9
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God — without error in the original autographs — and is our final authority for faith and life.
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." — 2 Timothy 3:16–17
"Knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." — 2 Peter 1:20–21
We believe the Lord calls His people to continue meeting together — encouraging one another, growing in the Word, and building each other up — until He comes again.
"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." — Hebrews 10:24–25
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." — Acts 2:42
